Childrens Senior Social Worker – Children in Our Care – #000B26001

Job Description

Oldham Council is seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Social Worker to join one of four teams within the Children in Our Care Service in Oldham, Greater Manchester.

This full-time (5 days per week) role involves holding a caseload of up to 18 children and young people in local authority care, aged 1 to 18 years. You will review progress and develop care plans tailored to each child’s individual needs, working within a structured team of one Team Manager, one Advanced Practitioner, and up to six Social Workers.

The working pattern is hybrid: three days in the office at George Street, Oldham (OL1 1HD) and two days working from home.

This is a maternity cover post expected to run for between 9 and 12 months, starting 3 August 2026, at a rate of £40 per hour.

To be considered you must be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England, with demonstrable experience in looked-after children / children in care work.
