Job Description

Somerset Council is recruiting an Assessment Social Worker to join a newly formed team as part of the Families First programme, based in Yeovil (BA20 2HT).

This is a locum role paying £28.41–£38.00 per hour, available from 6 July 2026. You will be joining at an exciting time as part of the council’s Families First initiative, carrying out assessments within a newly established children’s social care team.

Applicants must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. Previous experience in children’s assessment work is desirable.
