Job Description

Powys County Council is seeking a qualified Social Worker based at Ladywell House, Park Street, Newtown, Powys (SY16 1EG). This is a locum role paying £28.35–£37.14 per hour, starting 10 August 2026 with no confirmed end date. The role covers a large rural patch across Powys; the description includes a travel-time matrix between key towns including Newtown, Welshpool, Llandrindod Wells, Brecon, and others — candidates should be comfortable travelling across this geography.
