Social Worker – MASH Adults Safeguarding Team – #OR100183

Job Description

An experienced Social Worker is sought to join the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) Team within Conwy County Borough’s Children, Families and Safeguarding Service, based at Coed Pella, Colwyn Bay. This is a temporary assignment of approximately 12 weeks (with potential for extension), working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, at a rate of £30.50–£39.95 per hour, commencing 11 May 2026.

Working alongside the MASH team, you will manage the reception of referrals, make timely decisions within statutory time limits, and consult with Section Managers, colleagues, and Senior Safeguarding Social Workers on adult protection cases and matters of significant concern. You will work collaboratively with partner agencies to safeguard vulnerable adults, carers and families, promoting resilience, independence, and strengths-based outcomes, ensuring safeguarding processes are applied consistently in line with statutory requirements.

Candidates must hold a recognised Social Work qualification, be registered with Social Care Wales, and have a minimum of three years’ post-qualifying experience. A sound knowledge of All Wales Safeguarding Procedures, relevant legislation, and statutory guidance is essential. Strong interpersonal and IT skills are required. The role is office-based in Conwy County, and candidates must be able to commute to the Colwyn Bay office.
