Job Description
Are you a qualified and experienced Social Worker looking for your next challenge in adult social care? Lincolnshire County Council’s Adult Care service is seeking a committed professional to join their team based in Stamford, Lincolnshire, at a rate of £28.03–£38.00 per hour.
In this role you will hold a varied and complex caseload, delivering statutory social work under the Care Act 2014 with a genuine strengths-based approach. You will work autonomously whilst remaining accountable for your professional practice, supported by a Lead Practitioner structure.
Key responsibilities include undertaking needs assessments on complex cases, contributing to safeguarding enquiries in line with Lincolnshire’s safeguarding policies, constructing value-for-money care packages, and liaising across a broad multi-agency network spanning health and social care. You will also deputise for the Lead Practitioner when required, provide delegated supervision and mentoring to up to four non-registered practitioners, and support Social Work students and NQSWs through their Assessed and Supported Year in Employment.
Candidates must hold a recognised Social Work qualification, be currently registered with Social Work England, and have a minimum of two years’ post-qualification experience in adult services. Strong analytical assessment skills, knowledge of relevant legislation, and the ability to communicate confidently with a range of stakeholders are essential. A commitment to continuous professional development and the ability to challenge oppression and promote wellbeing are core to the values of the team.
This is an ongoing interim opportunity with a start date of 27 April 2026. If you are ready to make a meaningful difference to adults with care and support needs in Lincolnshire, apply today.
