Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a qualified Adult Social Worker to join a busy adult social care team based in Newcastle upon Tyne (NE4). This is a rewarding locum role offering a competitive rate of £27.56 per hour, available from 5th May 2026 on an ongoing basis.

This role sits within a fast-paced adult social work team where you will make a genuine difference to the lives of adults and their carers across the local community. You will carry a varied caseload and work within a supportive, professionally driven environment.

Key responsibilities include completing carers assessments, undertaking assessments in line with the Care Act, applying the Mental Capacity Act appropriately, and working collaboratively with carers and other professionals to deliver high-quality, person-centred outcomes.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England, with demonstrable experience in an adult social care setting. You will have a solid working knowledge of the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act, experience of completing carers assessments, and the resilience and pace to thrive in a busy team environment.

This is a Comensura-sourced role, so candidates should ideally hold current Comensura compliance.
