Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a locum Senior Occupational Therapist (OT) within the Independent Living Service at Bolton Council. The service has 32 staff comprising Occupational Therapists, Disability Officers, and Community Assessment Officers, and includes a Sensory Team and Telecare Team.

The role involves undertaking assessments and reviews of need under the Care Act 2014, providing advice on techniques, equipment, and adaptations, supporting service users to maintain independence, and linking people to universal and voluntary services. You will also assist colleagues across other areas of the service as required.

This post offers a genuine opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative ways of working across health and social care, promoting wellbeing and independence for service users and carers. Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to participate in inter-disciplinary team working are essential.

Candidates must hold a Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy, current Health Professions Council (HCPC) registration, a full driving licence, and a minimum of three years’ post-qualification experience.

Rate: £35 per hour. Start: 14 September 2026. End: 28 November 2026. Based at Adelaide Street, Daubhill, Bolton, BL3 3NY.
