Job Description
A Safeguarding Children Coordinator is required by Kirklees Council in Huddersfield (HD1 2LE) for a temporary assignment running from 17 August 2026 to 31 March 2027, paying £21.65 per hour.
This role has been created to provide additional capacity and administrative coordination across children’s safeguarding functions within a local authority setting. The post holder will take responsibility for coordinating serious case reviews, practice reviews, audits, and safeguarding performance activity across Kirklees.
Key responsibilities include coordinating safeguarding processes in line with organisational policies, supporting the management and progression of safeguarding referrals, maintaining accurate records and documentation, liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders, and monitoring safeguarding actions to ensure timely completion. The role also involves providing administrative and operational support to safeguarding practitioners and managers, along with assisting with reporting, data management, and compliance requirements.
This is a nine-month temporary assignment in a local authority environment.
