Job Description

Sefton MBC is seeking a Social Care Qualified Intervention Worker to join the My Space service, based at Trinity Road, Bootle (L20 3NJ). This is a children’s social care role focused on safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable children and young people, working as part of a team committed to continuously improving outcomes.

You will hold and manage a complex and varied caseload, undertaking direct work with children, young people and their families in line with Children in Need, Child Protection and Care plans. Duties include statutory assessments, risk identification, preparation of written statements and court representations, Achieving Best Evidence interviews, and chairing multi-disciplinary forums as required. You will maintain up-to-date assessments, care plans and reviews on ICS, and ensure all recording meets quality and timeliness standards.

The role requires strong critical reflection and evidence-based decision making, skilled communication in complex and high-risk situations, and effective partnership working across multi-agency boundaries. You will also contribute to the professional development of colleagues and oversee social work students on practice learning placements.

Applicants must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. The rate is £17.37–£22.68 per hour via Prism. Start date 18 June 2026. Apply now to express your interest.
