Job Description

Manchester City Council is seeking skilled and motivated Social Workers to join its multi-agency Complex Safeguarding Hub (CSH), based at Greenheys Police Station, Manchester. This is a temporary role running from 17 August 2026 to 1 February 2027, paying £35 per hour via XMS.

The CSH holds an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating, with complex safeguarding practice recognised as ‘Exemplary’. Working alongside GMP police officers, NHS specialists, Early Help, and third-sector partners, you will safeguard children and young people at risk of child sexual exploitation (CSE), child criminal exploitation (CCE), urban street groups, and serious youth violence across Manchester.

Key responsibilities include carrying out assessments of risk and safety planning, delivering bespoke trauma-informed interventions, consulting with partner agencies, attending Strategy and planning meetings, producing concise reports, supporting police disruption operations, and logging analysis on Liquid Logic. A core focus is building trusted, relationship-based connections with adolescents and championing positive, child-centred language across professional networks.

Essential requirements: Social Work England registration, completion of ASYE, driving licence and access to a car, experience of assessments and multi-agency working, and strong IT skills. Experience supporting children at risk of exploitation or serious violence is desirable.
