Job Description
Sefton MBC is seeking an Early Help Worker to be based at the Family Hub in Seaforth, Liverpool (L21 4NB). This is a temporary role paying £17.37–£22.68 per hour via Prism, starting 14 September 2026.
Working within a strengths-based, solution-focused model, you will engage and empower children, young people (aged 0–19) and their families to find their own solutions and build resilience. You will hold a caseload of families, conducting Early Help Assessments, co-producing support plans, and acting as a single point of contact across a holistic, multi-agency wrap-around.
Key responsibilities include: delivering targeted 1-1 and group interventions; undertaking independent home visits; identifying and reporting safeguarding concerns; maintaining accurate case records and IT-based case notes; partnering with Health Visitors, Schools, Early Years providers, Housing, and voluntary sector organisations; and supporting the Family Hub Manager with day-to-day coordination, including managing the Hub’s Facebook presence and online partnership directory.
You will promote parental engagement, support child development understanding, and signpost families to community activities and services. You will also contribute to CPD, team meetings, and awareness-raising events across the partnership.
A car allowance mileage rate is payable. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 — an enhanced DBS will be required. Post holders must be willing to move between locality delivery points as service needs dictate.
If you have experience in early help, family support, or community-based work with children and families and are available from mid-September, please get in touch.
