Childrens Advanced Practitioner – Referral and Assessment Team – #000B4E561
Job Description
Bolton Council is seeking an experienced Childrens Advanced Practitioner to join its Referral and Assessment (RA) service, based at Castle Hill, Bolton. This is a full-time, 37-hour-per-week locum post running from 28 September to 27 November 2026, paying £40 per hour.
You will carry a case holding responsibility whilst providing mentoring and support to NQSWs and Social Workers within the team. The caseload spans Bolton, with home visits and duty work forming part of the role.
Key requirements include demonstrable knowledge of Child Protection and Children in Need (CIN), court proceedings, report writing, and the ability to work within statutory assessment deadlines. Candidates must have at least three years of post-qualification experience.
Suppliers must complete the DfE Recommendation Compliance Questions and attach the completed file to the candidate record prior to submission. Candidates who do not pass these questions will not be progressed. A five-year reference history is required, with gaps in employment checked and relevant qualifications verified. References are requested prior to interview; a DBS check is required upon offer.
