Job Description
Lincolnshire County Council is seeking Customer Service Advisors to join the Children’s Social Care Care & Wellbeing Hub, based at Lancaster House in Lincoln City Centre.
This is a pivotal front-line role where you will be the first point of contact for individuals reporting concerns about a child. Callers include members of the public, Police Officers, Health and Social Care professionals, Teachers, and partner agencies. The information you gather and record is often central to decisions made about a child’s safety and wellbeing — making accuracy, clarity, and professional curiosity essential.
Key responsibilities include gathering detailed information from callers using structured frameworks, recording all contacts accurately on system, and passing information to Children’s Social Care teams. You will need to look beyond what is presented, asking probing questions and ensuring nothing is taken at face value.
The ideal candidate will have outstanding verbal and written communication skills, strong listening and attention to detail, the ability to type accurately whilst on the phone, and the resilience to handle sensitive and distressing calls with empathy and composure. Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, are required.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am–6:00pm (37 hours per week, flexibility required). The role is a minimum 12-week contract, starting 17 August 2026, paying £12.76–£16.49 per hour via Prism.
