Job Description
Bolton Council is seeking an experienced Adults Social Worker to join their Neighbourhood Team covering the west and central north area of Bolton (BL1, BL5, BL6). This is a full-time locum role, 37 hours per week over 5 days, based at Winifred Kettle Day Centre, Washacre, BL5 2NG. Rate: £30 per hour. Start: 24 August 2026, End: 31 October 2026.
Working within a person-centred service, you will support adults with a wide range of needs to maximise independence and achieve positive outcomes. Key responsibilities include undertaking Care Act assessments, developing and reviewing support plans, facilitating care arrangements, contributing to the duty function, managing risk, and responding to safeguarding concerns. You will work collaboratively with health professionals, partner agencies, and multidisciplinary teams, and support carers’ rights under the Care Act.
Required: recognised social work qualification, registration with Social Work England, and a minimum of one year’s post-qualifying experience completing Care Act assessments. Knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, safeguarding adults, and risk management is essential. Experience with Liquidlogic is desirable.
