Childrens Team Manager – Leaving Care Team – #000B32E01

Job Description

Bolton Council is seeking an experienced Childrens Team Manager to lead their Leaving Care Team, based at Castleton Street, Tonge Moor, Bolton (BL2 2JW). This is a full-time interim role working 37 hours per week, with flexible hybrid working in place, running from 10 August to 2 October 2026 at up to £45 per hour depending on experience.

You will provide strategic and operational leadership to a team supporting Eligible, Relevant, Former Relevant, and Qualifying Young People, ensuring the young person’s needs and pathway planning remain central to all activity. Key responsibilities include managing and developing team performance, maintaining financial oversight, and ensuring compliance with statutory frameworks including the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000 and the Children and Families Act 2014.

Candidates must have demonstrable experience of managing a Leaving Care team and be able to lead, facilitate, and participate in a range of professional meetings. A strong understanding of childcare law and practice, alongside the ability to delegate effectively and address performance issues, is essential.
