Job Description

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Team Manager to lead a Family Help team at Thurrock Council, delivering safe, high-quality services to children and families. Reporting to a Service Manager, you will provide leadership and oversight of casework, ensuring cases are allocated appropriately, risks are effectively managed, and children receive timely interventions. You will supervise and support practitioners, maintain practice standards, and manage team performance, resources and workforce planning, including recruitment, retention and budget contributions. The role involves strong partnership working, representing the service in multi-agency settings and chairing meetings, while contributing to the strategic direction of Children’s Services. The successful candidate will be a qualified and registered social worker with significant post-qualification experience in children’s services, strong knowledge of Early Help, safeguarding and child protection legislation, and proven leadership and staff management skills.
