Job Description

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Team Manager to provide temporary cover within Bolton’s Assessment Service, part of the Council’s Front Door. The team handles referrals and assessments for children at risk of significant harm, undertaking Section 47 enquiries, social care assessments, Initial Child Protection Conferences, Care Proceedings and the Public Law Outline. You will manage, supervise and support a team of social workers, ensuring high-quality, safe services through supervision, quality assurance, performance management and audit. Working alongside the management team and Senior Head of Service, you will help drive forward improved outcomes for Bolton’s most vulnerable children. This is a full-time, 37 hour per week temporary post running from October to December 2026, paying £43-£45 per hour. Candidates must have relevant qualifications as per the job description and person specification, five years’ referencing, and pass DfE recommendation compliance checks.
