Job Description

An experienced and motivated Social Worker is sought to join the Children with Disabilities Team at Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council. Working directly with children and young people with disabilities and their families, you will undertake assessments, care planning, safeguarding, and statutory interventions, promoting positive outcomes and delivering high-quality, child-centred practice.

This is a temporary locum post based at Gardenfold Way, Droylsden, Tameside (M43 7XU), running from 31 August to 31 October 2026, paying between £21.24 and £39.00 per hour via XMS. Hybrid working is supported but limited to one day per week from home — please do not apply if you require more than this. Free car parking is available on site, and the team is described as great and supportive.

Requirements include five years of references, employment history with gaps checked, and relevant qualifications as per the job description and person specification. Suppliers must complete the GM Pledge Compliance Attributes Questions attachment and add it to the candidate record prior to submission.
