Job Description

Somerset Council is seeking two agency Social Workers to join its Safeguarding Team in Bridgwater on a 6-month basis, paying £28.41–£38.00 per hour via Prism.

These posts have been created to support the service during a period of structural change, as Somerset prepares the transition to a new Family Help Team model. You will focus on Child in Need cases, providing direct social work intervention and completing up-to-date assessments to determine the most appropriate support for children and their families.

Working as part of the wider Safeguarding Team, you will collaborate with multi-agency partners and have access to dedicated Family Safeguarding Adult Workers who support families affected by mental health difficulties, domestic abuse, and substance misuse.

Candidates must be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England and hold relevant children’s social care experience. If you are available from August 2026 and interested in this role, please get in touch.
