Job Description
Knowsley Borough Council is seeking experienced Social Workers to join its Cared for Children service, based at Nutgrove Villa in Huyton, Merseyside. This is a looked-after children role with a strong focus on care planning, placement stability, and meaningful relationship-based practice.
You will undertake care planning and reviews for looked-after children and young people, lead complex assessments and interventions, and support children in understanding their life journey. You will develop purposeful relationships with children, their families and carers, work collaboratively with partner agencies to manage risk, and contribute to service development and practice improvement.
The role is offered at £39 per hour for Experienced Social Workers and £40 per hour for Advanced Social Workers (regional pay agreement).
We are looking for qualified Social Workers registered with Social Work England who have direct experience of supporting cared-for children and undertaking a safeguarding role. You should be confident managing complex risk and decision-making, relationship-focused and child-centred in your practice, and possess strong assessment, analysis, and court skills. A full valid driving licence and access to a car are essential.
