Job Description

Gateshead Council is seeking an experienced Childrens Social Work Manager to provide temporary Team Manager support to the newly established MASH (Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub) at the Civic Centre, NE8 1HH.

Working alongside the Assistant Team Managers for Social Work and Family Help, you will ensure timely and safe decision making on incoming referrals and contacts. This is a pivotal role in a newly established safeguarding hub, requiring confident leadership and sound judgement under pressure.

The post runs from 13 August to 30 October 2026 at £36.61 per hour. A recognised social work qualification and registration with Social Work England are essential.
