Job Description
An excellent opportunity for an experienced Enhanced Senior Social Worker to join Wakefield District’s Emergency Duty Team (EDT) on a full-time basis, delivering out-of-hours social care support across the district. You will assess urgent situations, ensure immediate safety planning, and deliver timely interventions until daytime services resume, working a rota including 16:00-00:00 weekdays, 09:00-17:00 weekends and bank holidays, plus overnight on-call cover as required. Duties include managing referrals via the Social Care inbox, handling emergency and crisis situations, undertaking planned visits on behalf of locality teams, and working collaboratively with partner agencies to deliver effective safeguarding responses. You will bring a minimum of three years’ post-qualifying experience within an EDT, MASH or frontline safeguarding service, strong assessment and crisis-management skills, and the flexibility to work a varied rota.
