Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, qualified Social Worker to join Thurrock Council as Deputy Team Manager within the Review Team, supporting children subject to Child in Need plans and undertaking review and assessment of care packages. You will directly supervise three social workers, providing case supervision and clear direction, and deputise for the Team Manager as required, contributing to leadership and day-to-day management of the team. Holding a small caseload of complex cases, you will support colleagues to develop their skills and embed reflective practice, with links to the Children with Disabilities Team, which benefits from a stable, permanent workforce. Candidates must be a qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration, hold significant post-qualifying experience in children’s social care including Children with Disabilities services, and have strong knowledge of relevant legislation including the Children Act 1989/2004, Care Act, and SEND framework. Proven experience supervising staff, deputising for management, safeguarding, risk assessment, and multi-agency partnership working is essential.
