Job Description

Barnet Council is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker / Advanced Practitioner for its Children in Care team, based in Colindale. You will hold a varied caseload of looked after children from infancy to 18, acting as case holder and demonstrating creative, analytical thinking to achieve the best outcomes for children in care. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing timely, effective care and pathway plans to secure permanency and stability, undertaking risk assessments and safety planning, and working closely with partner agencies to safeguard children and young people. You will carry out assessments, care planning and life story work, and support young people’s transition towards independence and the leaving care service as part of the corporate parenting role. This role requires a recognised social work qualification and Social Work England registration, along with recent experience as a case holder for looked after children.
