Job Description

Join Birmingham Children’s Trust’s Child Protection Inquiry Team on an initial 3-month agency contract, with potential for extension. This fast-paced, short-term service completes Section 47 enquiries and 15-day Section 17 assessments, with cases transferred to longer-term teams once complete. Caseloads are kept deliberately low, with most social workers holding 3-4 children at a time, alongside a duty rota every four weeks for new safeguarding referrals. We need an experienced, qualified and registered Social Worker confident in safeguarding and assessment work, able to complete Section 47 enquiries independently and manage competing priorities. Strong references and access to a car are required for statutory home visits across Birmingham. Based in Aston with free on-site parking, the team offers hybrid working (two office days per week), a structured induction, a supportive experienced management team, and free CPD training to support your Social Work England registration.
