Job Description
Lincolnshire County Council are seeking an experienced Childrens Advanced Practitioner for their South Kesteven team, based at 46 Union Street, Grantham (NG31 6NZ), with free on-site parking. This is a front-line safeguarding role covering the whole of the South Kesteven District, including Grantham and a large rural area.
You will hold a caseload spanning referral through to closure, working across CIN, Child Protection, and Care Proceedings without handover between social workers. Responsibilities include completing assessments and Section 47 investigations, supporting children on Child Protection and Child in Need plans, and compiling assessments and court reports for both private and public law proceedings.
The team operates on a four-week duty rotation: one week on duty (office-based five days, taking new referrals and completing initial visits), two weeks off duty, and one further week allocated. Experience and training in Section 47 investigations is required.
Essential: minimum three years post-qualifying experience in a permanent, front-line safeguarding role, and current Social Work England registration. Rate: £29.51–£40.00 per hour. Start date: 29 June 2026.
