Job Description

Central Bedfordshire Council is seeking a qualified Adults Social Worker to join a dedicated Review Function Team within Adult Social Care (ASC), based at Priory House, Shefford, SG17 5TQ. This is a hybrid role offering a competitive rate of £33.00–£44.00 per hour, starting 31 August 2026.

In this role you will work with people with care and support needs, their carers and families, conducting reviews and delivering evidence-based social care interventions to promote positive outcomes. You will collaborate with a broad range of partner agencies including NHS, Police, Education, Housing, and the voluntary and community sector.

Key responsibilities include assessing needs using standard assessment tools, developing and reviewing personalised care and support plans, and providing a person-centred response to safeguarding in line with relevant legislation. You will respond to crisis situations to ensure immediate protection, risk reduction and wellbeing promotion. The role involves regular exposure to mental health pressures, lone working, and work-related travel. Working pattern is standard Monday to Friday with flexibility subject to business needs.

Candidates must hold a recognised Social Work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. A commitment to best practice standards and professional codes of ethics is essential.
