Job Description
Somerset Council is recruiting a qualified Adults Social Worker to join their Adult Services team based in Yeovil (BA20 2HT). This is a community-focused role carrying a caseload of varying complexity, undertaking assessments of risk, care needs and support planning for adults in line with relevant legislation, policy and procedures.
Key responsibilities include making ongoing assessments of allocated cases, developing and reviewing care plans, managing individuals presenting in crisis, statutory carer assessments, Court of Protection applications, and contributing to multi-agency working with health, housing, police and voluntary sector partners. The role involves working in a variety of environments including hospitals, offices and client homes, and requires a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Essential requirements: a recognised Social Work qualification (BA or MA Social Work or equivalent) and current registration with Social Work England. Candidates should have relevant multi-disciplinary adult social care experience, strong IT skills, and the ability to communicate fluently in English. Experience with Learning Disabilities is desirable, as is supervisory experience.
