Job Description
Manchester City Council’s Emergency Duty Service (EDS) is seeking an experienced Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) for a minimum 6-month agency engagement, paying £45 per hour. Start date 10 August 2026, initially through to 11 January 2027.
Manchester is an up-and-coming authority currently navigating the dissolution of its S75 agreement, offering real variety across a large geographical area. The EDS is a small, friendly team covering the whole of Manchester out of hours, undertaking Mental Health Act assessments and managing all emergency adult social care.
You will work a rolling 7-week rota, contracted at 35 hours per week — hours flex across the rota cycle but balance out to 35 per week on average. The base is Philips Park Road, Beswick, Manchester (M11 3FU).
Candidates must hold a current AMHP warrant. For an informal discussion, contact Sam Walker on 07932 643 865.
If you are an experienced AMHP with a live warrant and are available from August 2026, please get in touch today.
