*Occupational Therapist – MEAP Children’s Assessment Service – #000B4DC01

Job Description

An Occupational Therapist is required for Manchester City Council (GM Collaboration), based at Philips Park Road, Manchester M11 3FU. This is a locum role paying £35 per hour, running from 5 October 2026 to 31 January 2027.

Working within the MEAP (Major Equipment and Adaptations Panel) service, you will carry out city-wide assessments for children aged 0–18 with physical and hidden disabilities. The role focuses on complex, bespoke equipment provision and minor and major home adaptations.

Key responsibilities include:
– Home assessments for children with complex needs, including Moving and Handling risk assessments and training for parents and carers
– Specialist seating assessments to support children with complex postural needs
– Complex safety assessments covering safe spaces, fencing, padded rooms, locks, and specialist beds
– Major adaptation assessments including Through Floor Lifts, additional toilets, specialist baths, showers, and bathing equipment

Candidates must be a registered Occupational Therapist with experience in paediatric assessments and complex equipment and adaptations work. Experience with children with physical and hidden disabilities is essential.
