Job Description

Central Bedfordshire Council is recruiting experienced Social Workers to join the Family Help Team, based in Shefford and Dunstable on a hybrid contract (37 hours per week, starting 1 September 2026). The rate is £29.28–£39.00 per hour via Prism.

As part of Central Bedfordshire’s Families First journey, Social Workers in Family Help support children from assessment onwards, building meaningful relationships with families to create lasting change. The team focuses on timely intervention to reduce the number of children entering local authority care, working across child in need, child protection, and court proceedings.

You will manage a varied caseload, carry out direct work with children to understand their views and lived experiences, chair multi-agency meetings, and produce high-quality assessments and reports. Court experience is essential.
