Job Description
Are you an experienced Children’s Social Worker looking for your next locum opportunity in Cheshire? We are recruiting on behalf of a local authority based at Delamere House, Crewe (CW1 2JZ) for a qualified Social Worker to join their Children’s Services team at a competitive rate of £39.00 per hour.
This is an ongoing locum position starting 21 April 2026, offering you the chance to make a genuine difference to the lives of children and families in the area. Whilst full duty details were not specified in the brief, the role sits within a children’s social work service and will require an Enhanced DBS check including the Children’s Barred List, reflecting the safeguarding responsibilities associated with this post.
To be considered, you will hold a recognised Social Work qualification (BA or MA in Social Work, or equivalent), be registered with Social Work England, and have demonstrable post-qualifying experience in a children’s social work setting. Experience across child protection, children in need, looked-after children, or assessments would be advantageous.
You will be a confident practitioner capable of managing a complex caseload, producing high-quality assessments and reports, and working effectively with children, families, and multi-agency partners.
