Job Description

Darlington Borough Council are piloting the Family Help model and are recruiting for a Specialist Family Support Worker (Social Care Qualified) to hold Child in Need cases within their Family Help Team in Darlington town centre.

This is an exciting opportunity for an alternatively qualified practitioner to work alongside social workers and other qualified colleagues undertaking children and families assessments and case holding for Children in Need. You will benefit from regular, reflective supervision and be part of a supportive, multidisciplinary Family Help team.

Rate: £21.02 per hour. Start date: 9 August 2026. Based at Floor 4, Town Hall, Darlington DL1 5QT.
