Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Court Team Social Worker based in Wrexham, working under the All Wales Pledge framework. This is a meaningful role at the heart of children’s services, where your expertise will directly influence outcomes for some of the most vulnerable children and families in the region.

Working within the Court Team, you will manage a complex caseload involving court proceedings, representing the local authority and contributing to the legal process to safeguard children’s welfare. You will prepare high-quality court reports, attend hearings, and work collaboratively with legal teams, guardians, and other professionals to progress cases effectively.

The team is based at 31 Chester Street, Wrexham, and you will be expected to work on-site in line with the requirements of an active court-based caseload. This post is offered under the All Wales Pledge, providing transparent and consistent pay arrangements for agency social workers across Wales.

The role is offered at a rate of £28.70–£38.43 per hour, with a start date of 14 May 2026.

Applicants must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work Wales (or Social Work England if applying from England). Court work experience is highly desirable, along with a sound understanding of childcare law and statutory frameworks in Wales.
