Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Social Worker to join an Adults Services team based at Fountain Court, Middlesbrough (TS1). This is a locum position available from 1st May 2026, offering a competitive rate of £203.90 per hour.

Working within Adults Services, you will carry a varied caseload supporting adults with a range of needs, including older people, those with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, and mental health conditions. You will conduct assessments, develop care and support plans, and work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to safeguard and promote the wellbeing of service users.

Key responsibilities will include undertaking Care Act assessments, managing ongoing cases, attending multi-disciplinary meetings, and maintaining accurate case records in line with local authority standards. You will be expected to work within relevant legislation and local authority policies, demonstrating a commitment to person-centred practice.

The successful candidate will hold a recognised Social Work qualification (BA or MA in Social Work or equivalent), be registered with Social Work England, and have demonstrable post-qualifying experience within an adults social care setting. Experience working within a statutory local authority team is highly desirable.
