Job Description

Semester is recruiting a SEND Assessment & Review Officer for Somerset Council on a remote, day-rate contract starting 8 June 2026, paying £205.58–£280.00 per day.

This role focuses on clearing a backlog of phase transfers and draft plans within the SEND process. You will complete all steps of the SEND process including writing Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans and amendment notices, consulting with educational settings, and maintaining regular communication with schools and other provisions. You will hold accountability and ownership over your own caseload of children and young people.

Ideal candidates will have demonstrable experience in SEND casework, EHC planning, phase transfer processes, and liaison with schools and specialist settings. Knowledge of relevant SEND legislation and local authority SEND processes is essential.
