Job Description
Manchester City Council is seeking an experienced Interim Registered Manager to lead a Short Breaks Service supporting adults with learning disabilities at Hall Lane Resource Centre, Manchester (M23 1WD). This is a day-rate contract (£425/day) running from 2 June to 1 September 2026.
This is a critical CQC-regulated leadership role focused on delivering safe, high-quality, person-centred care for adults with complex needs. You will take full registered-manager accountability, ensuring compliance with CQC Fundamental Standards, leading safeguarding and risk management, and driving positive outcomes for service users.
Key responsibilities include overseeing care planning, record keeping, and performance monitoring; managing and developing staff teams; working collaboratively with families, professionals, and partner agencies; and managing service delivery within budget. On-call participation may be required.
Ideal candidates will have proven experience as a Registered Manager (or equivalent senior leader) in adult social care, strong knowledge of CQC regulations and inspection frameworks, and experience supporting people with learning disabilities and complex needs. Experience in service improvement, stabilisation, or turnaround is highly desirable. An enhanced DBS is required, and the ability to start at short notice is a strong advantage.
