Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Painter/Decorator/Tiler to join a Housing maintenance team based at the Blyth Cowley Road Depot, NE24. This is a hands-on, ground-floor operational role offering a competitive rate of £20.67 per hour, available from 30th April 2026 on an ongoing basis.

Working within a Housing service, you will be responsible for carrying out high-quality painting, decorating, and tiling work across residential and communal properties. Your day-to-day duties will include surface preparation, applying paint and finishes to walls, ceilings and woodwork, and fitting and finishing ceramic, porcelain, or similar tiles in kitchens, bathrooms, and other areas as required.

The ideal candidate will hold relevant trade qualifications or have demonstrable experience across all three disciplines — painting, decorating, and tiling — and will be comfortable working to tight deadlines whilst maintaining excellent standards. Experience working within social housing or local authority maintenance is highly desirable.

You must be reliable, self-motivated, and able to work as part of a team. A valid driving licence may be required depending on site logistics.

This role is sourced via Comensura and candidates must be Comensura compliant or willing to complete compliance promptly prior to commencement.
