Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Social Worker to join Children’s Services in Bootle, Merseyside. Based at Trinity Road, this role offers the chance to make a real and lasting difference to the lives of children and families across the local area.

Working within a dedicated children’s social work team, you will hold a varied caseload encompassing child protection, children in need, looked-after children, and family assessments. You will work collaboratively with families, partner agencies, and multi-disciplinary colleagues to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.

Key responsibilities will include undertaking assessments, developing and reviewing care plans, attending and contributing to conferences and reviews, maintaining accurate case recording, and working within statutory frameworks and local authority procedures.

The successful candidate will be a Social Work England registered Social Worker with a recognised social work qualification (BA/MA Social Work or equivalent). Experience within a statutory children’s team is essential, along with strong assessment and report-writing skills and a commitment to child-centred practice.

This is a locum position paying between £22.38 and £29.35 per hour, commencing 12 May 2026. The role is based on-site in Bootle, L20 3NJ.
