Job Description
Rutland County Council is seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist to join its Adult Social Care team based in Oakham (LE15 6HP), offering £16.62–£22.25 per hour via Prism, starting 1 June 2026.
In this role you will deliver a range of OT interventions enabling adults to remain in their own homes with maximum independence. You will undertake holistic, strength-based assessments and develop personalised reablement plans, support individuals on Discharge to Assess pathways, and provide community-based therapy to prevent hospital admission.
Key responsibilities include assessing and arranging equipment and adaptations (including major adaptations), undertaking complex moving-and-handling risk assessments, involving service users and carers in support planning, and identifying assistive technology solutions. You will supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants, provide professional guidance to Social Workers, and work in an integrated way with health and social care colleagues.
Candidates must hold a Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy and current HCPC registration, with experience in an adult social work or adult health environment and knowledge of safeguarding policy and the Care Act 2014. Strong assessment, communication, and IT skills are essential, as is the ability to work from various locations across Rutland.
