Job Description
Blackpool Council is seeking an experienced, qualified Adults Social Worker to join its Adult Community Team, based at Talbot Gateway, Blackpool (FY1 3AH).
Blackpool is one of the most deprived towns in England, and this team reflects that reality — working with adults aged 18 and over who present with a wide range of complex needs including disabilities associated with illness, age and frailty, substance misuse, and domestic abuse. The team supports those who do not meet the threshold for specialist learning disability, autism, or mental health services.
Key responsibilities include managing new incoming referrals, undertaking Care Act assessments and reviews, and carrying out safeguarding work (the team operates without a separate safeguarding function). All support and induction for this work is provided.
This is an office-based role requiring experienced, qualified social workers who are comfortable working at pace in a high-needs community setting. Three years of references are required, with employment history gaps checked and relevant qualifications verified as per the job description and person specification.
Rate: £30.66 per hour. Start date: 22 June 2026. End date: 1 July 2026 (with potential for extension). 37 hours per week.
