Blackburn with Darwen Childrens Services require an experienced agency social worker at least 2 years post ASYE, to cover for at least 3 months in its Safeguarding and Support team which involves case work of Child Protection, pre-proceedings and care proceedings.

The post is full time over 5 days per week and condensed hours are not likely to be considered.

You will ideally have experience of using the Protocol LCS system and have good IT inputting skills.  You will be up to date with current Childrens social work legislation and have been working in Childrens social work teams consistently for the last few years without any significant gaps in employment.

There is some hybrid working usually at least 34 with the days to be agreed with the Team Manager and flexibility around this is required to meet the needs of the service. The office is based in the town centre in Blackburn with car parking close by and easy access to main road networks.

You will be a car driver with access to a car on daily basis.  You will be currently registered with the SWE and have a current DBS enhanced check.

JOB PURPOSE

To contribute to the operational delivery of an effective Children’s Social Care Service as part of a team responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable children and young people continuously improving outcomes.

To be responsible for social work provision including managing own caseload whilst managing the reputation of the Department and Council and complying with national and service procedures and guidance.

Please be aware this is a Long Term Temporary post to start ASAP.

  • A professional qualification in social work and experience of working with Children's
  • Social Work England registration.
