Job Description
Swindon Borough Council is seeking a Customer Services Information Guide to join its Contact Centre team at Civic Campus, Euclid Street, Swindon (SN1 2JG).
This is a full-time temporary role working Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, 37 hours per week, paying £13.90–£18.48 per hour via Prism.
The role involves answering inbound calls and emails from Swindon residents, primarily regarding Housing Repairs. You will listen attentively to customers, ask pertinent questions to understand their needs, and support them to self-serve where possible. You will maintain high service standards at all times — being courteous, welcoming, and professional — and escalate unresolved matters to a Team Leader or relevant service area as required. All activity must be carried out in accordance with the Data Protection Act.
Ideal candidates will have previous call centre or customer service experience, confident telephone manner, and the ability to work efficiently with digital systems.
