Job Description
Lincolnshire County Council is recruiting a Customer Service Advisor for the Adult Care Team within the Care & Wellbeing Hub, based at Lancaster House in Lincoln city centre. This is a temporary role, 37 hours per week, minimum 12 weeks, paying £12.76–£16.49 per hour, starting 29 June 2026.
The Customer Service Centre is the first point of contact for a wide range of council services, including Adult Care, Children’s Services, Highways, Libraries, and Registration & Celebratory Services. Within the Adult Care Team, you will handle calls and emails from members of the public and professionals seeking information, advice, safeguarding referrals, or access to Adult Care, the Lincolnshire Carer Service, and the Wellbeing Service.
Using a strength-based approach, you will carry out professional, sensitive conversations — some of which can be complex and emotive — to determine the most appropriate outcome for each customer. Direct input (typing while talking) is required, so strong IT and typing skills are essential. Working hours are flexible between 8am and 8pm, Monday to Friday.
Experience in a busy customer service or contact centre environment is required; a social care background is preferred but not essential, as full induction and training will be provided.
