Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Childrens Social Worker to join the Safeguarding and Family Support teams based at Middlesbrough House Aspire, TS1 2RH. This is a full-time role paying £27.56 per hour, available from 11th May 2026.

You will deliver a comprehensive social work service to children and families requiring support under Child in Need (Section 17) and Child Protection (Section 47), including PLO and Public Law proceedings. Key responsibilities include formulating and implementing appropriate care plans, chairing core groups and CIN meetings, and providing ongoing support as the key worker through home visits, direct work, observations, and report writing. You will complete assessments relating to the child’s lived experience and prepare reports for initial and review child protection conferences and looked-after reviews.

You will maintain individual professional standards in line with agreed levels, ensuring full compliance with policy and procedural guidelines, and take primary responsibility for the quality and accuracy of casework recording. Regular supervision with the Team Manager will provide professional support and oversight.

Candidates must hold a recognised Social Work qualification (BA/MA Social Work or equivalent) and be registered with Social Work England. Proven experience in child protection, CIN, and court work is essential. Strong assessment, report-writing, and organisational skills are required.
