Job Description

An experienced Children’s Social Worker is required for a busy but friendly MAST (Multi-Agency Safeguarding Team) in Calderdale. Based at Princess Buildings, Halifax, this is a temporary contract running from 20 July to 30 September 2026, paying £35 per hour.

You will be at the front door of children’s services, handling enquiries from members of the public and professionals, screening referrals to determine level of risk, and attending strategy meetings where required. This is a fast-paced, high-volume role demanding strong assessment skills and sound safeguarding knowledge.

To be considered you must be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England and have demonstrable experience at a level commensurate with a Level 3 / experienced practitioner, ideally with a background in MASH, MAST, or duty and assessment work in a children’s setting.
