Job Description

Darlington Borough Council is seeking an experienced Kinship Fostering Supervising Social Worker to join the Darlington Fostering Team on a temporary basis from 14 September to 12 December 2026.

Based primarily at the Town Hall, Darlington (DL1 5QT), this hybrid role combines home working with office attendance. You will assess and supervise Darlington families, with occasional national travel required to assess families elsewhere in the country.

Key responsibilities include completing viability assessments, Form K assessments, and the supervision of Connected Foster Carers.

The role is offered at a rate of £27.56 per hour. Applicants must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England.
