Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Childrens Senior Social Worker or Advanced Practitioner to join the Intervention and Planning Team based in Colindale, North West London.

This role sits at the heart of children’s social care, working with children and families at the intervention and planning stage of their journey through services. You will hold a complex caseload, contributing to high-quality assessments, care planning, and direct work with children and their families — ensuring the best outcomes for some of the most vulnerable young people in the borough.

Key responsibilities will include managing and progressing cases through the intervention and planning framework, chairing or contributing to child protection conferences and reviews, producing court-ready documentation where required, and working collaboratively with partner agencies to deliver coordinated, child-centred support.

You will be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England, with demonstrable post-qualifying experience in a children’s statutory setting. You should be confident working at a senior level, able to provide reflective practice and support to less experienced colleagues, and capable of managing competing priorities in a busy team environment.

The role is offered on a temporary basis at a competitive rate of £27.32–£37.54 per hour, with a start date of 12 May 2026. The position is based on-site at 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London, NW9 4EW.
