Job Description

Are you a qualified and experienced children’s social worker passionate about making a real difference to children and the carers who look after them? Durham County Council is seeking two motivated Senior Social Workers to join a collaborative, forward-thinking Connected Carers team based at Seaham Spectrum Business Centre, SR7 7TT.

In this role you will provide high-quality assessment, supervision, and support to connected carers, helping them build confidence and skills through tailored training so they can meet the diverse needs of the children in their care. You will work as part of a supportive team that values professional growth and impact. Connected carers are primarily based in and around Durham, though some wider travel may be required.

The role is offered on a locum basis at £32.73 per hour, with a start date of 22 June 2026. Candidates must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England.
