Job Description

South Tyneside Council is seeking a Care Worker for shifts at Clasper Court, South Shields (NE33 1LN), starting 24 July 2026. Initial shifts are 24/7/26 07:00–15:00 and 25/7/26 14:30–22:30, with flexibility required across a rota including nights and weekends.

The role requires a minimum NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent), the Care Certificate (if new to care), First Aid and Manual Handling certificates, Medication Training, and a clear enhanced DBS for adults and children. A Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care is also listed. Any specialist training such as dementia care or safeguarding is desirable.

Candidates must demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a commitment to dignity, respect, and safeguarding.
